Hi I’m Valerie, Val for short,
If you’re curious, empathic and passionate about your business, raising your family or even your dog- then you are in the right place and I can’t wait to meet you!
I follow my gut and what lights me up. And what lights me up is meeting small business owners in our community, start ups, soloprenuers, creatives, artists- especially those of you who create with your hands- I think that’s magical.
If you have a family full of littles - those messy, goofy, imperfect moments are my favorite to capture. AND since being a mom to a toddler- I recognize the need for moms to have photos taken of them (and some dads too). Your kids will thank you- and you will be so glad you braved having some candid shots of real moments.
But why throw in dogs? Because I LOVE dogs. Like a lot. And the bond between a dog and the family is the sweetest thing to capture.
The name Random Vignettes came about because my goal of every photo is to tell a story and a lot of my photography started out with random subjects in random places. I’ve been shooting for fun since my first international trip to India back in 2014. The pivotal moment where things shifted in how I viewed my surroundings. It was a study in contrasts, color and dynamic. Life changing to say the least.
As my client I want you to feel seen. It’s my desire to understand your needs, your vision and what’s important for you whether you’re getting pictures for your social media or for your memory bank, let’s have some fun and create art out of the everyday.

No glam, strobe lights, back drops or flowy dresses in a field of tall grasses as the sun sets- nothing wrong with these types of pics and there are many amazing artists who capture them beautifully. The experience I offer is one that is timeless, documentary style of the everyday, a glimpse into the story that makes you, you.

For my families-
If you go on a vacation and take a bunch of photos - which ones end up being your favorite? The beautiful sunsets, picture perfect landscapes, the beautifully plated meals- or the photo that captured the spontaneous laughter at dinner that one night or the ninja photos your partner took of you as you were admiring the view?
It’s never the photo with the matching beige and blues all lined up that has you swoon with fond remembrance- it’s the ones with the goofy grins, the messy mouths, the quick embrace- the adoration in your partner’s eye.
Inside the nuance of the everyday are the in-between moments- those sparks, glances, melt downs, spills and smiles - that are rich in realness.
